Stedelijk Onderwijs is an autonomous municipal company of the city of Antwerp and one of the largest providers of education in Flanders. Each day we welcome 55 000 pupils in one of our 120 primary or secondary schools, art schools and adult education centers, where we offer a wide range of study options. Our 6000 teachers, directors and support staff are dedicated to providing quality education, focussing not only on learning objectives but also on individual care.
To do so, our students and teachers are supported professionally by our central administrative centre with its executive committee and pedagogical and operational departments. It is here that also international projects and collaborations are managed.

Management

A five-piece management team and board of directors articulate the organization’s vision and stipulate clear strategic objectives. The board has representatives from all political fractions in the city council and is chaired by the aldermen responsible for education.
